"Astray" is a work that deeply analyzes human nature and is full of realistic criticism and emotional entanglements.
The story revolves around the first protagonist Lin Chenzhou. He was originally an elite lawyer, but he was framed and wrongfully imprisoned. His once bright future suddenly collapsed. After he was released from prison, he was filled with persistence for the truth and resentment against his enemies. From then on, he became a "scavenger" wandering on the edge of black and white, using illegal means to avenge the dark forces. He is indifferent on the surface, but lonely and angry in his heart. The contradiction between legal thinking and illegal behavior, and the fatal flaw of "cannot trust anyone" make him sink deeper and deeper on the road to revenge and gradually lose himself.
The second protagonist Shen Zhiyi, as a psychological profiler of the Criminal Police Team, and Lin Chenzhou were college classmates and they once admired each other. She is a firm idealist and firmly believes in procedural justice. However, the darkness of reality continues to impact her beliefs. When she investigated the case and found clues pointing to Lin Chenzhou, the two stood on opposite sides because of their opposing positions. In the development of the plot, the story is divided into three stages.
