I Picked Up a Beggar to Cherish, and Now He’s on His Knees!

The beggar Gu Jinshen picked up on a whim became the biggest joke in high society.

This girl, who can't tell a champagne glass from any other, receives five million in cash as her “salary” every day.

At a party, the socialites mock her for being uncultured, but she bends down to pick up a handbag one of them dropped.

When his childhood friend Shirley exposes her beggar past, Gu Jinshen announces in front of everyone, “I love how filthy she is.”

On a rainy night after she is thrown out of the house, she holds an umbrella over a homeless old man until dawn.

The sight finally makes Gu Jinshen's mother, who followed her there, understand:

This beggar, who can't say pretty things, has the purest soul in all of high society.

And Gu Jinshen's three days and nights on his knees in the mud, searching for her,

are more earnest than any of the billion-yuan contracts he has signed in his twenty-eight years.
