The Hidden Chronicle of the Five Kings: A Fateful Encounter in Ancient Shu

To save a civilization, she transmigrates across three thousand years and becomes the “Hidden God” of the Shu kings of the Five Dynasties.

While volunteering at the Sanxingdui Museum, modern-day girl Zhu Sisi accidentally activates the time-traveling power of a bronze mask with protruding eyes. Her soul is hurled again and again into ancient Shu. She sees King Cancong raise the last divine silkworm during the Ice Age, witnesses King Yufu carve a migration map spanning the oceans, helps King Boguan hide the secret of a medicinal staff deep in the Shu Mountains, and watches King Duyu freeze to death in a mulberry orchard after burying rice seeds in bronze. At last, she joins King Kaiming in carrying out an astonishing plan: to put their entire civilization into “hibernation” underground.

They burn their books and forge their artifacts into tombs, hiding all their memories, technology, and genetic codes in the eyes of bronze masks, the notched patterns of jade scepters, and the thickness of gold foil. They leave the future with a vast mystery.

When Zhu Sisi finally returns to the present and stands beneath the sunset at the Jinsha Site, she suddenly understands: those sacrificial pits were not the end, but a promise made across three thousand years. The golden staff in her hand points toward Dujiangyan.

In the museum, the newly unearthed Golden Sun Bird ornament seems to have just lit up its ninth eye.

The people of ancient Shu said: When the divine bird opens its eyes, the people of Shu will return.

And she is the one chosen to awaken them.
