Cultivation in this world was nothing but a vast, earth-shattering scam.
Deep within the spiritual energy cultivators breathed in lay the curled-up remnants of the good and evil of ancient gods and demons. Some refined benevolent thoughts into a crystal heart, with lotuses blooming beneath every step. Others fed malevolent souls until they became Asura bones, unleashing seas of blood.
And I am the chosen Lampbearer.
With my left hand, I can refine a century-old benevolent soul and save ten thousand lives. With my right, I can burn away an ancient evil spirit and suppress calamities across the eight directions. As the lamp flickers, it reveals:
A holy monk in the Buddhist realm refines a hundred thousand plague victims into incense ash to save all living beings.
A demoness of the demonic path carves out her heart to feed a tiger, yet makes the wicked ghosts of hell weep until they waste away.
When Heaven’s edict descends: “Burn away every benevolent soul, and calamity shall never again befall this world”
The final benevolent soul is bound to my dying beloved.
As the lamp tips toward ruin, it illuminates the nine depths of the underworld:
This glorious Great Way was built upon the bones of the good.
That righteous heavenly law has long been eaten through by evil desire.
I laugh as I take up both blades and strike at the eternal night:
If goodness must be burned to fuel the light, then let this mortal world sink forever into the Avici Hell!
