Liu Yao’s Memories

(Feel free to browse the table of contents and pick whichever stories you like. Almost every chapter is a complete short story.) This work follows a girl named Liu Yao and her experiences during her school years, as she fumbles her way through life and explores it for herself.

Blurred vision; family estrangement and the influence of television; the menacing shadow of Teacher Chen; fear and harassment in the dark; precious glimmers of light; the curiosity and longing of adolescence, and the pursuit of beauty; awkward relationships with the opposite sex; first experiences with the internet; the wisdom to survive.

At times, her thoughts and actions may seem a little strange. But because her family never taught her anything, there is a lot she doesn't know or understand. She can only learn gradually through what she sees, thinks, and reflects on.
