Shen Zhihua was once a world-renowned artistic prodigy. After her parents died suddenly, she lost her sense of color and stopped painting. One day, she unexpectedly meets a white peacock with six green feathers at the zoo, who claims to be her “spirit-beast partner.” This stunning bird, who transforms into a man and is rather clueless underneath, is the spirit bird Bai Ling. He must teach her to paint and keep her company, all while protecting her from soul hunters who want to devour her. Every green feather on his body is a color he paid for with his life. She paints him as if he were her life itself; he protects her until death. One painting, one trial: they are destined for each other.
A love bound by their souls, a promise of protection left unfinished in a past life. She saved him once, but can he shield her from every nightmare in this life?
