Fast and Furious: Playing Dumb to Save My Big Sister-in-Law

Jack Soto was a modern mechanic and underground street racer with gasoline in his veins. One night, while rewatching The Fast and the Furious, Dom's charisma and Brian's drifting got his blood pumping. He hit the gas a little too hard... When he opened his eyes again, the deafening hip-hop, the choking smell of cheap cologne, and the modified Civic gleaming with cheap chrome before him all seemed to scream: Welcome to the streets of Los Angeles in 2001! His driving skills? Good enough to go head-to-head with Brian and make Dom take notice. Spoilers? His head was stuffed with the “family history” of the next decade and beyond. But Jack knew the ironclad rule: He could join this street-racing family, but changing key events in the story was out of the question! So when Letty got into trouble, he “just happened” to be passing by and drifted in to save her. When Jesse was cornered, he “just happened” to blow a tire and stop right there. He danced on the edge of a knife with some outrageous driving, while using jokes and a wrench to become the indispensable mechanic and morale booster of this “family.” When Dom's deep voice rang out, “Welcome home, Jack,” he knew that the Soto name had finally made it onto the street-racing family's roster. Change history? No, no. He's just an ordinary transmigrator and professional last-minute fixer, doing his best not to crack up.
