Urban fantasy, Eastern fantasy, inherited bloodlines, and the healing power of family.
In a destiny forged from ice and fire, how will one mother rewrite a curse that has endured for three thousand years?
Liu Ruyun was once the heir to the Mystic Ice Spirit physique, entrusted with sealing the ancient evil Xiangliu. When she fell in love with Xiang Feng, a dragon-blooded hybrid, and gave birth to their son, Xiao Douding, who carries three bloodlines, she thought she could finally escape the shackles of fate and live an ordinary life.
But a purification ritual on Mount Kunlun accidentally shattered the ancient balance and unleashed the suppressed “Nine Nether Aura.” Strange things began happening in the town: animals died mysteriously, water sources became polluted for no apparent reason, and the fetuses of pregnant women began to mutate… Worse still, Liu Ruyun discovered that every time she used her newly acquired dragon-and-phoenix powers, it triggered abnormal fluctuations in her son’s energy.
Only when Xueli, the silver-haired, blue-scaled guardian of Kunlun, appeared to warn her did Liu Ruyun realize the truth: her son, Xiao Douding, was no ordinary hybrid born by chance. He was a “Chaos Physique” devised three thousand years ago, the only being capable of resealing the Well of the Nine Nether.
As the Nine Nether’s corruption spreads through the town, Liu Ruyun must choose between protecting her son and saving the innocent. Xiang Feng, too, will defy the rules of the dragon clan and stand against its entire council of elders. When mother and son stand at the mouth of the Nine Nether Well, clutching a dagger of ice marrow, an even more astonishing truth awaits: the first Mystic Ice Spirit and the being sealed within the well share a bloodstained bond that transcends time and space…
In this fantastical tale of bloodlines, destiny, and family, you’ll witness a remarkable fusion of Eastern fantasy and modern urban life.
