In some future age, Earth has become unrecognizable. After countless wars and disasters, human civilization has fractured into isolated tribes, each filled with suspicion and hostility toward the others. Rapid technological progress has brought no peace; instead, it has deepened humanity's divisions. In this shattered world, communication has become incredibly difficult, and the profession of messenger has emerged.
Messengers are the lonely wanderers of this age. They cross dangerous wilderness to carry messages between tribes. Their work is fraught with danger: they must face harsh natural conditions and evade tribes that slaughter one another for resources. Yet messengers understand the importance of their mission. They give their lives to preserve the last remaining bonds between people.
The story's protagonist is a young messenger named Aiden. He was born in a remote tribe, and his parents died when he was very young. The tribe's elder raised him. The elder was a wise and kind old man who told Aiden that messengers were humanity's last hope, and that only through their efforts might people unite again.
Aiden had dreamed of becoming a messenger since childhood. He hoped that one day he would become a great messenger and carry news of peace to every corner of the world. Under the elder's guidance, he learned how to survive in the wilderness, avoid danger, and deliver messages. At last, when he turned eighteen, the elder decided to make him an official messenger.
