The Evolution of a Female Scholar at the Imperial Academy, Within the Palace Walls

Shen Zhixia, the first female scholar at the Imperial Academy, is caught in a family disaster after her father is falsely accused of treason. To save him, she is forced to enter the imperial harem, starting as its lowest-ranking maid. Drawing on her knowledge of history, military strategy, and human nature, she overcomes crises ranging from false accusations by palace maids and schemes by consorts to a rebellion by the imperial relatives. She rises step by step from female official to consort, Noble Consort, Imperial Noble Consort, and finally Empress. In the end, she clears her father's name, reforms the harem, and becomes a virtuous empress. The appeal lies in using knowledge instead of a golden finger: every promotion comes from using her wits to deliver face-slapping to her opponents, with a steady stream of satisfying payoffs and tightly reasoned plots.
