Fields in the Cold Palace: The Deposed Empress Turns Her Fate Around by Reclaiming the Wasteland

Su Qinghe, a disciple of a reclusive God of Agriculture, marries into the imperial family and becomes empress. After the Noble Consort frames her for “causing the prince’s death,” she is deposed and sent to the Cold Palace. Drawing on the farming and medical skills she has learned since childhood, she clears land and grows crops in the Cold Palace, raising livestock as well. Not only does she feed herself, she quietly improves life for the palace maids and eunuchs there, gradually winning their support. Meanwhile, she secretly investigates the truth behind the frame-up and reunites with the cold-faced emperor, Xiao Jingheng. It turns out he never truly believed the charges against her; he sent her to the Cold Palace only to protect her. The two rekindle their feelings among the palace gardens, and Su Qinghe uses her farming know-how to overcome palace intrigues, exposing the Noble Consort’s schemes one step at a time. In the end, she regains her position as empress and uses her agricultural skills to help the people overcome famine, delivering a satisfying reversal: farming within the palace walls and bringing peace to the people beyond them.
