A global catastrophe codenamed “Red Fog” descends without warning. The crimson mist engulfs seventy percent of the land, and survivors must not only contend with an environment of thin air and mutated vegetation but also evade the “Twisted Ones” transformed by the Red Fog. They still look human, but have claws and a bloodthirsty instinct. Lin Feng, a former special forces soldier, rescues Su Qing, a psychiatrist, from the ruins. Though their personalities and skills are worlds apart, the two are forced to join forces. As they search for supplies and build a shelter in a jungle of steel and concrete, they try to uncover the truth behind the Red Fog: Is it nature striking back, or a man-made disaster? As more survivors gather, struggles over resources, the corruption of human nature, and attacks by the Twisted Ones come one after another. Lin Feng’s steely resolve and Su Qing’s resilience become each other’s armor. On this ashen wasteland, cut off from all hope, they must face not only external threats but also the despair within, all in the hope of finding a glimmer of survival for humanity before the Red Fog lifts.
