Yu Mo, a former professor of criminal psychology, receives an anonymous request to investigate a cold case that appears to be a suicide. The victim was a prominent local entrepreneur, and the scene is riddled with suspicious details. When Yu Mo meets the victim's daughter, Cheng Yuqing, he learns that the victim had been acting strangely before his death and discovers traces of clues deliberately concealed at the crime scene.
