The Moon Shines Through the Ages

Winter had settled deep over Yujing, and cold plum blossoms wept blood.

On the night her birth mother died with a grudge in her heart, Yun Zhi, the humblest illegitimate daughter in the Yun Marquis's manor, took up a bloodstained copy of the Moon Spirit Sutra.

"A woman should stand in the world like moonlight: gentle, yet never weak; bright, yet never dazzling."

Within the sprawling manor, she kept her talents hidden, wrote on behalf of her legitimate elder sister, and copied scriptures for the mistress of the house. No one knew that the delicate hands bent over her desk night after night had forged a soul-severing sword beneath the moon.
