In the Cangyue world, after the human, spirit, and sea clans joined forces to repel an invasion from another realm, the three peoples lived side by side in peace for several hundred years. Humanity settled on the Jiuzhou Continent and enjoyed its abundant land resources alone. The spirit clan lived to the north of the Cangyue Forest on the continent, in the heart of the woodlands and icy wastes. The vast eastern seas, known as the Abyss of Canglan, were home to the sea clan. At some point, the sea clan grew ever stronger and its ambitions continued to swell. Seeking to rule the entire Cangyue world, it plunged the three peoples into endless conflict.
