Meishan: My Sixty Years

The protagonist was born deep in the Meishan mountains, grew up stepping through morning dew on the ridges between fields, and learned about life listening to the wind in the bamboo groves. As a child, he pored over books by the light of a kerosene lamp. As a teenager, he shouldered his bags and left the mountains to pursue an education. In his youth, he plunged into the workplace amid the tide of reform and opening up. In middle age, laid off, he struggled to start a business. This book contains the entire life of an ordinary son of Meishan, from birth to retirement.

From patched clothes in the years of famine to scribbling away at a desk; from sweating in the workshop to reaping the harvest in the fields; from the uncertainty of entering society to the calm of looking back on the road behind him after retirement. There are no earth-shattering legends here, only the resilience the mountains instilled in him and sixty years of steady, unflagging effort.

This is not just one person's story. It is a portrait of a generation of Meishan sons and daughters taking root, growing, and striving upward through the times: Meishan soil beneath their feet, distant light in their eyes, and an undiminished spirit of hard work in their hearts. Welcome to read my work. I hope you'll enjoy it. Your support motivates me to write, and I'll do my best to tell every story well!
