Secrets by the Campfire

The general idea is:

I, He Suoxi, used little details to make a straight girl fall for me. Then she started pursuing me. But when she was drunk, she kissed me, and her father found out. She chose to distance herself from me and listen to her parents, accepting the advances of a suitor. We broke up. Later, she came to me and begged me to get back together, but I had made up my mind.

The story switches perspectives quite a lot. The emotions are delicate and detail-oriented, sometimes a little complicated and contradictory, but there are moments of harmony too.

It may start off quiet and understated, with little intimacy between the two.

But that may change later. The story is long and includes flashbacks.

This is a story about two people choosing each other, missing one another again and again, and finally reuniting.

He secretly fell for Xu, quietly giving everything he could, but twice missed his chance to confess: first when he caught Xu tangled up with her ex, and later when Xu called him “her best friend.” Heartbroken, he built a wall around himself.

When Xu finally realized she had fallen for He and awkwardly tried to show it, He chose to avoid her and act cold because of past pain and misunderstandings, extinguishing Xu’s enthusiasm. At their third team-building event, Xu tried to talk things through after drinking, but another misunderstanding and an interruption made them miss their chance yet again. They drifted farther apart.

He’s distance finally made Xu come to her senses, and she began the difficult task of winning her love back, quietly giving everything she could and enduring all the bitterness.

But after they separated, Xu had already tried to start a new relationship. When she realized she could never let He go, she turned down Chen Yang’s proposal and went to reclaim the love they once shared, carrying a pair of ceramic cups engraved with their surnames that she had never given her.

How will it all end...? Will they find happiness?
