Zhu Qingchu woke up one morning to find himself transmigrated into the 1970s as a young intellectual who had volunteered to go to the countryside. Faced with harsh conditions and shortages of food and clothing, he unexpectedly bound himself to a Spiritual Spring Space. Its spring water could nourish the body, and the crops he grew flourished at an astonishing rate.
At Hongqi Production Brigade, he met Qi Yan, a taciturn man with remarkable fighting skills. The tough man, whom the villagers regarded with awe, always appeared quietly when Zhu Qingchu needed him most: shielding him from troublemakers, bringing him game to build up his strength, and even fastening a wolf-fang pendant said to ward off evil around his neck himself.
The space was his secret to making a life for himself, and it also brought the two of them closer. He used its produce to improve their lives and quietly help the neighbors. Qi Yan, meanwhile, protected him with his clumsy tenderness, staying by his side through the rigors of farm work and the turmoil of dealing with people's fickle hearts.
When the chance to return to the city came, he had to choose between the familiar past and the person he had long since come to care for. Gazing into Qi Yan's deep eyes, Zhu Qingchu finally understood that wherever Qi Yan was, that was truly home. With the spring flowing and the years peaceful, two utterly different people weave the warmest love story on this land.
