Updated daily at 9:00 p.m. A novelization of the hit drama starring Gao Ye and Zhang Lu Yi.
A husband-killing case takes place in Wuyan City. The victim, Zhang Yuan, was stabbed seventeen times. During questioning, the suspect, Chen Ting, firmly maintains that she acted in self-defense. At a joint meeting, the prosecutors argue fiercely over how to classify her actions.
The lead prosecutor, Duan Hongshan, believes Chen Ting's killing of her husband was justifiable self-defense. As the debate rages, a witness comes forward: Mei Zheng. Her appearance reminds Duan Hongshan of a case he handled fourteen years ago, involving Li Mufeng and excessive force in campus self-defense. Mei Zheng and Chen Ting were both witnesses. The people involved in the two cases overlap. What coincidences might lie behind them?
During the supplementary investigation, someone reports Duan Hongshan for showing favoritism in Chen Ting's case, claiming he may be using self-defense as an excuse to get the killer off. Given the gravity of the case, the provincial procuratorate sends Fang Lingyuan to investigate. But just after she arrives at the city procuratorate, Duan Hongshan vanishes under mysterious circumstances. He then appears at a police station, disheveled and covered in blood, and says weakly:
“I want to report a crime. I killed someone.”
After watching the TV series, I feel that the author has great writing skills. Extremely awesome👍
The writing is beautiful and full of connotations, the plot is compact and ups and downs, and the legal interpretation is accurate and eye-catching. It is worth reading carefully.
