"Nine tins" is the highest courtesy given by ancient emperors to meritorious officials, symbolizing the pinnacle of power. He was a scholar from a poor family. His hometown was flooded when he was young, and his whole family, except for him, died at the hands of corrupt officials (actually, he was silenced by the big shots in the court to cover up his corruption). Fortunately, his mentor (the late famous official of the Qing Dynasty) took him under his wing and taught him, and he acquired the knowledge and tactics that can be applied in the world. Carrying the blood feud and the legacy of his mentor (to eliminate Chao Gang), he went to Beijing for scientific research.
