"Dongzhi 1108" tells a love story that takes place in the kitchen of a hotpot restaurant in a small county.
The male protagonist Wei Dong is the foreman of the hot pot restaurant's back kitchen, capable and attentive; the female protagonist Zhishuai is the new pastry chef, three years older than Wei Dong, gentle and independent. The two met in the steaming kitchen. One is responsible for controlling the freshness of hot pot ingredients, and the other focuses on making sweet desserts.
