For five yuan, Hong Jingtian picked up a bronze compass at a street stall and wound up stirring up a hornet's nest in the spirit world. The broken compass hides the guardian spirits of the twelve zodiac animals, and carrying it in his pocket makes him a walking trouble magnet. And what's more, this bargain-bin trinket is tied to secrets from his father's generation.
