Shen Xu was branded a traitor, and more than three hundred members of the Shen and Xu families were beheaded. His surviving daughter, Shen Shang, set out to clear her father’s name. Along the way, she came to recognize the ugliness of the powerful. Influenced by the many people she met, she transformed from someone seeking justice for her father into a patriotic female general loyal to her ruler.
