The Apocalypse Came, and I Became the Corpse King

When the apocalypse strikes without warning, Jiang Hao, a night-shift security guard at a biotech company, is infected and becomes a zombie king, yet retains his human consciousness and memories. His first thought is to find his girlfriend, Qing Ling. Though he has become a zombie, he can command others of his kind and possesses far greater intelligence and strength than ordinary zombies.

Qing Ling struggles to survive the apocalypse and joins a temporary military outpost, where she faces threats from both zombies and humans. She encounters Jiang Hao several times, moving from fear and suspicion to gradually realizing that he is different. Meanwhile, Jiang Hao wrestles with the conflict between instinct and reason. As he fights other zombies and human factions, he quietly protects Qing Ling.

As the story unfolds, various factions enter the picture: a ruthless band of mercenaries, the mysterious organization called the "Purifiers," other zombie kings, and the research institute's sinister conspiracy. Jiang Hao meets companions such as Chen Yang, Ling Yue, and A Li. Some are human, others are mutants, but together they face one crisis after another, including zombie hordes, laboratory-made monsters, and the pursuit and exploitation of rival factions.

The group travels from abandoned cities to shelters, factories, and isolated islands in search of supplies and hope, uncovering shocking secrets such as the "Purification Plan" and the "Mother Experiment." Jiang Hao keeps moving forward, protecting his companions and fighting his enemies. From struggling alone to leading a team in the fight for survival, he embodies humanity's inner turmoil, the bonds between companions, and the will to survive in the apocalypse, while confronting challenges such as factional divisions and crises of trust.
