In Yanggu County of the Northern Song Dynasty, Wu Dalang, a pancake seller, lived an ordinary life with his beautiful wife Pan Jinlian, but a fallen pole caused a storm. The pole hit the bully Ximen Qing. When he saw Pan Jinlian's beauty, he conspired with Wang Po to seduce her.
The rumors finally reached Wu Dalang's ears until he personally discovered the tryst between the two at Wang's wife's house. He was angry and caught the traitor, but was kicked to the ground by Ximen Qing. He vomited blood and was bedridden. Pan Jinlian was actually instigated by Ximen Qing to enter the bedroom at night carrying arsenic. She drank the poisonous soup with trembling hands and watched her husband struggle in pain with no mercy in her eyes. Wu Dalang's "corpse" was quickly buried hastily, and no one in Yanggu County saw him again.
But late at night, at the gravesite, the thin coffin suddenly made a soft sound.
No one knows that there is a bigger mystery hidden behind this death - where did the disappeared Wu Dalang go?
