When the thousand and first story is finished, you'll be the next listener.
Legend has it that this book was first nailed to the tongue of an unidentified female corpse.
No one knows who she was. All they know is that she died with a smile on her face, clutching a handful of pages soaked in blood.
Later, the pages scattered across the world. Whenever one fell into a reader's hands, a new ghost story would appear.
One by one, the stories were added to the book, until today, when the collection finally reached one thousand and one.
These stories don't come from imagination. They come from the "gaps":
• An unknown recording that appears on your phone at exactly midnight;
• An elevator's overload alarm goes off, though you're the only one inside;
• The graffiti on your childhood bedroom wall grows a seventh eye one night;
• And a blank page that no pen can write on, unless you use your own blood.
Reading warnings:
Never turn to the last page. Your name is written there;
If you hear whispers coming from the spine, close the book immediately, or it will continue telling the part you didn't finish;
Every time you finish a story, one page disappears. When all the stories have been read, you will become the protagonist of the thousand and second story.
Now, open to the first page.
May you read slowly enough that you never have to hear how you die in someone else's version.
