There may be a bonus chapter after the tragic ending, so Xiao Chengji can have a happy ending at last. Wan'er, forget me. Forget Xiao Chengji, the man who could only bring you pain and suffering. Find someone... a good man who can live a peaceful life with you and watch the years flow by. May you have peace and joy, and live a long life.
In this life... I have wronged you too much. In the next... if there is a next life... I hope to be born into an ordinary family and be nothing but your... foolish scholar.
