In the late stages of a century-long global war, German youth Armin meets Chinese veteran Zhao Jianguo amid the ruins of Berlin. The old man carries seeds of “Moon Dust Rice,” which can grow in irradiated zones. Together with Lina, a girl who has lost both her parents, they establish a greenhouse in an abandoned botanical garden, using the seeds to kindle hope for survival. Along the way, they take in an American veteran and his son and fend off the threat of the Black Wolf Gang. More and more survivors gather, sowing seeds and trust with their own hands amid the ruins. Before he dies, Zhao Jianguo entrusts Armin with the responsibility of protecting the seeds. In the end, Moon Dust Rice spreads throughout the ruins. People of different nationalities rebuild their bonds through farming, and the scars of war are soothed by new greenery. In the simplest way, humanity moves toward a unity that transcends hatred. Only then does this blue planet truly become a global village.
