Background: In the year 220 of the Dong Kingdom, Empress Yu Zhao ascended the throne. Taking advantage of the unsettled political situation during Yu Zhao's accession, neighboring Yang launched a war to seize Dong's land and resources. The Empress of Dong stood firm in resistance. Thus began the war that has now lasted eight years.

Main story: Ye Yan held a low-ranking post in Yang, but after backing the wrong faction, she was demoted again and again. On the way to her latest posting, everything suddenly went black. She realized she had been kidnapped! When she closed and reopened her eyes, she had somehow arrived in enemy territory, the Dong Kingdom, right in the Empress's main hall! And the Empress was standing in front of her!

"How about coming to work for Dong?"

And just like that, Ye Yan was forced to join a mysterious organization in Dong.

As she learned more, Ye Yan discovered that all the information she had about the organization, Annihilate Yang, had come from the organization itself. It was also behind every piece of Yang's leaked intelligence! Every member of Annihilate Yang was highly skilled. They excelled at fighting, not just gathering information. Ye Yan could only smile bitterly, because Yang was in the middle of a civil war over spies who didn't even exist.

And so she began her life as a worker all over again.

But one day, by chance, she found a book titled The Truth About My Background in the library...
