Daring Adventures in the High-Tech Land of the Little People

The story follows Zhu Xiaoai, Li Yang, Ma Chao, and Wang Xiaobin, four friends who grew up together. After attending an extraordinary lecture, they decide to travel to Antarctica in search of a mysterious civilization. At the lecture, Professor Wang suggests that a civilization beneath the Antarctic ice may be at least five centuries more technologically advanced than humanity. This bombshell strikes a chord with all four. As children, they used to gather around a black-and-white TV and dream about Antarctica. Now that old idea is revived, and they decide to make it real. Over the next month, they turn the attic above their alleyway home into a “war room” and divide up the work. Li Yang plans the equipment and budget, while Ma Chao and Wang Xiaobin study all kinds of Antarctic maps and documents. Zhu Xiaoai organizes the materials Professor Wang has provided, including symbols believed to be writing from the mysterious civilization. They make all kinds of preparations for their trip to Antarctica, and at last, as they wait for departure in the early hours of the morning, they set out toward a place filled with mystery and the unknown. The passage brims with anticipation for adventure and the easy understanding between friends. It links their childhood dreams to their present-day plans and creates the feeling that an extraordinary journey is about to begin.
