Lin Wan is a cool, reserved illustrator who can’t stand noise or caffeine.
Su Xiao is a sunny, energetic barista who believes sunshine can melt any ice.
The day fate made them roommates, Lin Wan dumped Su Xiao’s signature drink.
“Sorry. I hate the smell of coffee,” Lin Wan said without a trace of expression.
But Su Xiao only smiled brighter. “That’s okay! I’ve got a sunshine special: a caffeine-free smile!”
From that day on, Lin Wan’s frozen world began to thaw:
She woke to the smell of Su Xiao’s fried eggs instead of an obnoxious alarm.
A perfectly warm cup of fruit and flower tea was always waiting beside her while she worked on her illustrations.
When she came home late after working overtime, a little light was always on in the living room, along with a silly sticky note: “Anyone coming home late gets a special cup of hot milk~”
Just as Lin Wan had finally grown used to this warmth, Su Xiao received an acceptance letter for an advanced coffee course overseas.
Lin Wan quietly packed her things, ready to move out, but at the bottom of a box she found an artbook Su Xiao had hidden away
Every page showed her: frowning, drawing, stealing a smile… On the last page, these words were written:
“More than sunshine, I think I want to be the light that shines just for you.”
