Black and White Impermanence: “Li Mingyu, you're dead. Come with us to the underworld.”
King Pingdeng: “To be honest, I don't see anything special about you. But since you've already come down here, we can't send you back. Your body has been cremated, the funeral is over, and the underworld has passed judgment. However, since a judge under my command committed a crime, I will decide your case. I sentence you to return to the mortal realm and restore your allotted lifespan.”
“But I can go back to the mortal realm? Come back to life?”
“You can.”
“Then can I see my parents again and go back to my old life?”
“No.”
“Huh? Didn't you say I could come back to life?”
“Restoring your lifespan means sending you to be reborn in the mortal realm, where you can continue living. But there's no way we can send you back to your original world. You'll have to go to another one.”
And so, Li Mingyu was reborn, bewildered...
