When he crushed a robber’s throat, bronze scales spread across his knuckles. Only then did Lin Hao realize that his grandfather’s dying shout, “Smash any bronze artifacts you see,” wasn’t the ravings of a madman. It was a warning!
A warning that the power sleeping inside him belonged to Chi You, the ancient Lord of War, whose name history had branded as the “Demon God”!
Overnight, Lin Hao, the “Subway Superhero,” became an online sensation, and a target for the ancient organization known as the Keepers of Order. They considered every descendant of Chi You a threat that had to be eliminated. When his younger sister was kidnapped and held hostage, Lin Hao had no choice but to leap into the blood pool where the Seekers of the Ancestors were awakening his lineage, and embrace its savage power.
That power offered hope of survival, but it also brought nightmares of losing control. Poisonous fruit in Miao territory, the eerie mist of Sanxing, a blood sacrifice in Shanghai... Every step pushed him closer to the abyss of the Demon God’s will. Only Su Wan, the girl who could draw the visions of his bloodline, remained his last anchor. Then Su Wan gouged out her left eye and used her blood as a lamp, just to light a sliver of hope for him on the Demon God’s psychic battlefield.
But when Lin Hao tore apart Chi You’s remnant soul and ascended the throne of the God of War, he discovered the shocking truth: beneath the Yellow Emperor’s crown during the ancient Battle of Zhuolu, there had been the faint glow of an extraterrestrial craft! And deep beneath Antarctica’s ice, a gigantic claw that had lain dormant for a million years was quietly stirring...
Was this bloodline a curse, or the key to rewriting humanity’s fate?
