In the future world, the "Cyber Heaven" rules the three realms, and cultivators are reduced to "merit workers." The protagonist Chen Gou awakens his past life memory and discovers that he is actually an NPC generated by a bug in the heaven system, and that the entire fairy world is actually a Ponzi scheme maintained by "merit loans".
