A Desperate Counterattack on the Brink of Death

In ancient times, Buddhism and Daoism flourished across this continent, and countless experts emerged, ushering in a terrifying era. After the immortal sects led by Buddhism and Daoism broke through the Realm of Delusion, they began to use incense offerings as a path to power, severing emotions and abandoning their humanity. Their fanatical pursuits gave rise to many demonic cultivators. From then on, the continent was ravaged by war, demons and monsters walked among mortals, drinking human blood and feeding on human flesh. The people suffered terribly, while the righteous path grew weak and leaderless.

Just as all living beings were plunged into misery, a master who had attained the Dao appeared. Born to humble origins, he slew demons and monsters and performed acts of chivalry, yet always sought to benefit himself. He was both righteous and wicked, and the world named him the True Lord of the Evil Path. The True Lord practiced the orthodox and authentic Daoist arts of the orthodox sects, yet most of his secret techniques belonged to crooked and wicked schools.

With his own power and a supreme treasure of Heaven and Earth, he slaughtered countless demons and monsters using the blood of innumerable living beings. The demonic forces hated him, yet feared the destructive power of the treasure, and all avoided confronting him. The righteous path regarded him as a fiend who had slaughtered the righteous under heaven and butchered countless beings for the sake of that supreme treasure. But the True Lord of the Evil Path paid them no mind. Bearing the treasure of Heaven and Earth, he carried out deeds both righteous and wicked, slaying demons and monsters, while the long-suffering people faced even greater hardship. Countless people ate human flesh and devoured their own children, as though hell had returned to the mortal world. The righteous path of the human world was in turmoil...

The evil spirits and demons were either killed or sealed, clearing the darkness from the skies above the mortal world. The True Lord of the Evil Path then vanished without a trace, surviving only in legend, and the mortal world was finally able to catch its breath.
