The Poison-Tongued Guardian

In an apparently peaceful modern county town, 25-year-old police officer Fang Moyu lives an ordinary life, resolving neighborhood disputes and keeping the peace. But three consecutive nights of apocalyptic nightmares shatter that calm. When he wakes, he discovers the town's first victim of Poisoned Speech infection: a woman arguing at the market spits venom that corrodes everyone nearby in an instant.

Amid the chaos, Fang Moyu unexpectedly awakens the power to create a “Protective Barrier.” By touching an infected person's blood, he can raise an invisible barrier that shields everyone inside from Poisoned Speech attacks. Survivors pour in seeking shelter, but the first to venture outside are instantly reduced to blood. Fang Moyu then discovers the barrier's terrible drawback: anyone it protects who leaves and becomes infected will have their entire body corroded.

The infected grow in number, while explosions and cries ring out outside. Supplies dwindle within the barrier, tensions flare, and some even urge that “a few must be sacrificed so the rest can survive.” By chance, Fang Moyu rescues a mysterious old man, who tells him that only the fetal blood of a child born to the “chosen one” can cleanse Poisoned Speech. To save the world, Fang Moyu leaves the barrier's core behind and sets out alone to find the sacred mountain.
