From the Start, I Win a Billion and Return to My Fishing Village

The day Hong Qingling was laid off, she spent her last twenty yuan on a lottery ticket.

The next day, she became a billionaire.

“I can finally live the life I want!”

With just a little luggage, she returned to her hometown, a small fishing village, and began a simple, unassuming life as a millionaire.

Five in the morning:

She rises with the tide, grabs a little bucket, and heads out to gather seafood.

She competes with the village grannies to see who can collect the most clams.

A jumping fish suddenly springs out and scares her into a scream.

Ten in the morning:

She goes to the beach to gather seafood.

Even with her face bright red from the sun, she can’t bear to go home.

Three in the afternoon:

She sorts through her haul in her little courtyard.

She shares the extra seafood with her neighbors.

Seven in the evening:

She lies in a rocking chair and watches the stars.

She falls asleep to the sound of the waves.

Every now and then, she also:

- Helps renovate the classrooms at the village elementary school

- Shares her haul on social media, leaving her former colleagues wailing with envy

“So the best life doesn’t take a billion yuan. All you need is the sea and a heart that knows how to enjoy it.”
