A Marriage Certificate from a Thousand Years in the Future

He is a cultivator in an age when the Dharma has declined. A thousand years ago, during the cataclysmic battle for the Spirit Pool, he watched helplessly as his beloved wife, Yun Yao, faded away in his arms. In a fit of rage, he killed everyone present. Her final whisper was, “If there is another life, I’ll still be your wife.”

A thousand years later, spiritual energy is on the verge of drying up, and cultivators have long since vanished. His once world-spanning cultivation has become a death sentence: with no spiritual energy to replenish him, every time he uses his powers, it is as if he is burning through the less than a century of life he has left. This world can no longer tolerate a being like him. When the world’s consciousness was explored twenty years later, he finally found his wife’s reincarnation. After a thousand years, their love will begin anew, and the world will begin anew.
