Jiang Wu is a paper-thin character who awakens inside a book. After breaking free of her predetermined fate, she finds herself saddled with a huge debt. She sets off with the System bound to her, traveling through one book world after another to complete missions. She is supposed to help the chosen one, stay by his side, and support him, but she can’t bear to follow the plot and ends up going down the same old path.
First world: a dying family head × the abused heroine of a forced-marriage romance
Second world: a top-tier star’s older sister × the heroine of an entertainment-industry novel, suppressed by the star
Third world: a woman general × the heroine of an angsty historical romance, whose identity is stolen and who is sent away for a political marriage
Other worlds are yet to be decided.
A heads-up for everyone: there are subtle romantic threads, and the story leans toward having two female leads. There will be lots of girls being affectionate with each other, but the protagonist won’t develop anything too serious with anyone. Ship whichever pairing you like.
