Cheng Mo wakes up in Shanghai in 2045 to find that he has lost some of his memories. All he remembers is that he is a neuroscientist, and the mysterious "Memory Encoder" on his wrist seems connected to his past.
At a café, he meets a woman named Lin Yu who claims to know him. She hints that his memories may have been altered and warns him not to trust anyone, including himself.
