This is no heartwarming story about friendly neighbors. It is a dark business-war legend about a reborn man who turns a courtyard house into a chessboard and the times into a wager. Amid the undercurrents of the urban jungle, he uses culinary skill, cunning, courage, and even ruthlessness to seize capital, settle old scores, and defy fate. Watch as he turns the label of “Silly Zhu” into his deadliest disguise, manipulating events in corners untouched by sunlight, until he transforms from a pawn at others' mercy into the player moving the pieces and stirring up the business world. The struggle and corruption of human nature in the face of profit, along with the survival wisdom and brutal rules of life in the cracks of the times, are all laid bare in this work.
