(A blend of classical and modern Chinese, a Journey to the West reincarnation story featuring Sun Wukong and the Buddha Patriarch, the Supreme One creating the world, plenty of Sun Wukong, and Journey to the West plot.)
Fahai transmigrates as Tang Sanzang and takes Sun Wukong as his disciple from the start!
"Mighty Heavenly Dragon, World-Honored Ksitigarbha, Buddhas of Prajna, Prajna Bama Kong!"
By Heaven's command, he sets out west to seek the scriptures!
With a true heart, he will uphold the righteous Dharma, climb Spirit Mountain, and bring back the true scriptures to save the world!
That is, until he arrives at...
Tongtian River! The people wear mourning white and offer up boys and girls as sacrifices for demons to devour!
The man-eater: a golden fish in the pond of a Bodhisattva of the Buddhist sect!
Lion Camel Ridge! Skulls rise like hills, bones form a forest, and human flesh rots into dust!
The man-eaters: the Buddhist sect's Bodhisattva's mounts, the Azure Lion, the White Elephant, and the Golden-Winged Great Peng, the Buddha's own maternal uncle!
Bhikshu Kingdom! Children are raised in goose cages, their bellies cut open and hearts ripped out to be eaten!
The man-eater: the Antarctic Immortal Elder's mount, the White Deer Spirit!
"Demons are all servants of the immortals and Buddhas, while gods and Buddhas look on as the mortal world becomes hell!"
His faith crumbles, and his Buddhist staff is stained with blood!
At Western Spirit Mountain, in the Great Thunderclap Temple, a monk challenges the golden Buddha!
"With a Buddhist sect like this, what good would it do to bring the true scriptures east?"
"The ten thousand volumes of Buddhist scriptures are all lies!"
"Can I, Fahai, save the world with Buddhist scriptures?"
I give it a five-star rating. Personally, I think it's pretty good-looking, but it's probably more difficult for many people to read it because it's filled with a lot of classical Chinese. So it doesn't look so smooth, easy and comfortable. Only those with more patience will go see it 🤭
The writing style has charm, and some sentences have the connotation of classical Chinese. You may have to read the same sentence three times before you can understand it, which makes the threshold a bit high. However, this door has an overall appreciation style, which is really rare.
Fahai turned into Tang Sanzang, and the monkeys had to rush to fight monsters, otherwise they would not have a chance to stretch their muscles. It's a thrilling killing, and with the addition of the Westward Journey plot against Tiangang, the overall drama is serious without losing humor. The author's Fa Hai is also very interesting. I just read the TV series "Green Snake Gaiden" and read this book to watch the film and television experience of Fa Hai's life. As a digression, I have always used Jiao Enjun's version of Fahai as the protagonist, handsome yet majestic.
Tang Seng was replaced by Fahai, but the plot didn't change much. Except that Sun Wukong became a little more comfortable, there were no other changes. The monsters that died in the original plot died more smoothly, but the ones that should be fine are still fine. (I feel that the Three Kingdoms Division is quite miserable. I thought they would survive this time, but they died too🤦) The black bear was still slipped away by Bodhisattva.
Five-star praise is an encouragement. I have read Chapter 153 so far, and I skipped through some more later. The overall setting is a bit interesting, with Fahai becoming Tang Sanzang, destroying demons and proving the great road, and many rounds of journey to the west. The author's writing is good and worth reading carefully. The beginning of the novel is the best. The first round of Journey to the West is also good. From now on, you can guess the direction of the plot. There is no sense of surprise. Multiple rounds of Journey to the West are also quite repetitive. Although I know that the author wants to write that Fa Hai is committed to exterminating demons and establishing a new order, in fact, mortals still suffer when gods fight. Some chaotic and kind-hearted demons die just like mortals. Only those who have some background and cause and effect can survive. But Fahai is at the top, and the treatment of mortals is much better than in the original Dark Journey to the West. Of course, Fahai has also changed from being unyielding at the beginning to being proficient in the world 😂 The disciples have arranged a good future... But I still prefer the Fahai at the beginning...
I feel like some of the sentences describing scenery and fighting scenes are 🤔 from the original work. It feels good, author, come on
The author's literary talent is very good! Worth a look
Hahaha, I feel like the author should be writing the book based on the original work. It is half text and half white and has the style of the original Journey to the West 👍 👍 👍
