Hunter X Hunter: Jekki's Longing

1. Hunter Exam: The only way to become a Hunter, it consists of multiple trials testing survival skills, intelligence, combat ability, and more. Historically, fewer than 1% of candidates pass. Notable applicants such as Gon, Killua, and Kurapika all stood out in the 287th exam.

2. Nen Ability: The ultimate use of life energy

• System of categories:

1. Enhancement: Directly strengthens the body (Gon's Jajanken)

2. Transmutation: Changes the properties of Nen (Killua's “Electricity”)

3. Conjuration: Creates physical objects (Kurapika's “Judgment Chain”)

4. Manipulation: Controls targets (Shalnark's “Black Voice”)

5. Emission: Long-range attacks (Leorio's “Healing Wave”)

6. Specialization: Unique abilities (Chrollo's Skill Hunter)

• Restrictions and Vows: Self-imposed restrictions can greatly increase the strength of one's Nen. For example, Kurapika limits the use of his abilities to certain targets to pursue revenge.

3. Major Factions: The Vortex of Power Struggles

• Zoldyck Family:

◦ History: A renowned family of assassins with ten generations of history, whose members are all S-rank Nen users

◦ Distinctive traits: The family castle is equipped with an underground torture chamber and an automated defense system. The family uses “Nen needles” to control its members

◦ Notable members: Killua (who leaves the family in pursuit of freedom) and Illumi (who faithfully carries out the family's orders)

• Phantom Troupe:

◦ Goal: To collect every “one-of-a-kind treasure” in the world

◦ Modus operandi: Every member is an S-rank fugitive, identifiable by the trademark “spider tattoo” and the vacant “Number 8” position
