Hey, Ace, Ever Heard of Being Someone’s Beaten Opponent?

Keyboard-and-mouse online game + 1v1 campus romance + double secret identities, sweet romance + ensemble cast in a game guild + classic old-school online gaming

"The server's number-one player, Kong Huai, swore he'd hunt me until I quit the game?"

"Sorry, the person you're chasing just teamed up with you to get the first clear of a Hell-difficulty dungeon."

"You're back to beg me to team up with you again? Sorry, but this defeated loser is going to make you beg for mercy on your knees this time."

Then came an offline event...

My nemesis, the one I'd once infuriated so much in-game that he smashed his keyboard,

turned out to be Zhao Xisheng, the campus heartthrob everyone admired.

He lowered his eyes and smiled. "Junior Nian, you turned me down three times in the game..."

"Are you going to run away from me in real life, too?"

Later, the game he made became a sensation across the internet.

The bonus scene for clearing my favorite dungeon was a few lines of code:

if first_meet:

print("You had me at hello")

elif anniversary:

print("And you still have me now")
