From a refined young lady of Jiangnan to a wandering orphan, she has met many people in her life: a chivalrous heroine, loving elders, confidantes, and the elegant young gentleman to whom she once gave her whole heart. They were like brilliant shards of light, piecing together what she believed was a perfect life.
But fate came like an autumn wind, scattering all the splendor. Close friends went their separate ways, benefactors passed away, and even the man who once swore eternal love only claimed to like her because of his own desire for power.
When the noise faded, she stood alone in an autumn courtyard, watching the leaves drift down. She had once possessed so much, and lost even more. She had finally tasted every shade of worldly life, every warmth and coldness of human nature.
Having known both joy and sorrow, the storm in her heart finally settled into a desolate calm. It turned out the hardest part of life was not meeting people, but seeing through the uncertainty of parting and reunion, then learning to live with the lonely autumn wind. In the end, she was left with only herself, but at last she had become whole.
P.S. There is a romance, but only in the early part of the story. By the middle and later parts, it mostly disappears, leaving only the scumbag's self-reflection. If that's not your thing, feel free to move along.
