A Glimmer of Light Between the Heavens
"I, the humble monk Huiming, vow to seek a sliver of life for this crumbling world, a lamp of undying hope, and a chance to turn fate around."
He was once Liang Caisheng, with a brilliant future within easy reach. But amid cataclysmic upheaval, his country and family were destroyed, and his path through the mortal world was cut short. At the edge of an abyss, a monk's robe gave him a faint glimmer of life, while laying a burden upon him that he could not refuse: the Dharma name Huiming.
Clad in a kasaya, he carries a name from his past, branded with blood and fire in his heart. He walks through a chaotic world like the end of days, witnessing lives ruined and the Heavenly Dao in decline. All living beings are drowning in a boundless sea of suffering. A voice knocks day and night in the depths of his soul: "Is this broken world still worth saving? And what hope can someone as insignificant as me possibly find?"
The "hope for survival" he seeks is not for his own sake, but to find a way for all the people to live.
The "hope" he kindles is no empty fantasy, but a lamp of awakening that pierces despair.
The "fate" he contends for is not about personal honor or shame, but about restoring balance to the fallen Heavenly Dao for all living beings.
And yet, the Buddhist sanctuary cannot accept his grand ambition to stir the currents of fate. The world of political intrigue fears even more the insight with which he sees through illusions. His identity is torn between Huiming and Liang Caisheng, while his path wavers between saving the world with compassion and wielding thunderous force. He must fight the dark tide that devours everything, while also confronting his own attachment to "form": his longing for his former self, his delusion about his mission, and his fear of being denied what he seeks.
When "formlessness" is no longer merely Buddhist doctrine, but the path he must walk.
