[Youthful Campus Romance + Younger Man]
The scheming, sweet-talking Xia Ye and the innocent, naive Chun Ye
Spring River won’t carry them apart; springtime affection stretches on and on.
After a family upheaval, Xia Ye is sent by his family to Chunhe Village, where he stays with Chun Ye’s family and meets her. At first he’s awkward and sees her through a rose-tinted rural lens, disliking her intensely and trampling on her kindness. Later, he regrets it, and a seed of love takes root. Chun Ye, Xia Ye, and Wang Dafa become close friends.
Three years later, Xia Ye is told to return to the city. He firmly declares, “I’ll go with you, but only if you bring her too. Chun Ye has to come with me and live at our house!”
At her mother’s urging, Chun Ye goes to the Xia family’s home. Xia Ye’s mother immediately gives her a hostile welcome and insults her.
Xia Ye takes her to live elsewhere. They attend Qingchuan Primary School together, in the same grade. The little schemer Xia Ye calls her “Sis” every chance he gets, and sulks whenever he sees her getting close to someone else.
As they spend more time together, their feelings grow deeper and deeper…
Only later does Chun Ye realize it was all part of his plan. What should she do if she wants to run away?
Xia Ye: “Too late to run, Sis…”
