A Lifetime Amid Peach Blossoms in Ashes

Princess Zhaoyang was ordered to marry far from home. Her betrothed was a man rumored to have died of illness years ago.

On their wedding night, she lifted her veil and saw the supposed invalid, Xie Jingxing, coughing so hard it sounded as if his lungs might tear.

“My lady, my health... cough, cough... I’m afraid I’ll only bring you hardship.”

Zhaoyang gave a cold laugh. “That’s fine. I’m very good at bringing good luck to the sick.”

Then one night, she lost her way and stumbled upon a moonlit courtyard

Her frail, ailing husband was wielding a sword, its blade flashing with a fierce, icy light as he swept the peach blossoms to the ground.
