Censor, Please Spare Me

Jiang Yicui was the most inconspicuous concubine-born daughter in the Prime Minister's household. She knew nothing of poetry or music, but she had a sharp tongue that spared no one. The shadow of losing her mother at five, along with the cruelty and torment inflicted by her stepmother and legitimate-born elder sister, made her tough on the outside but tender within. She never let a grudge go unanswered. By chance, she stumbled upon clues that her mother had not died of illness, and the flames of revenge lit up her dormant heart. Through a twist of fate, she entered the whirlpool of court politics after angrily trading barbs with Xiao Heng, the newly appointed Censor-in-Chief. With Xiao Heng's help, she took revenge and killed her enemy with her own hands.
