Moonlight on the Spearpoint and the Caged Bird

Su Ye hates two kinds of people more than anything: troublesome ones, and people surnamed Lu.

Unfortunately, Lu Jin is both.

The first time they met, she was collecting a debt for someone else, with a gun pointed at his head. He just smiled at her. “Your gun looks better than every luxury item I've ever seen.”

The second time, he cornered her at the mouth of an alley and brushed his fingertips over the blood at the corner of her mouth. “Be mine, and no one will ever make you bleed again.”

Su Ye scoffed and turned to leave, but he wrapped a chain around her ankle. It wasn't a restraint, but a suffocatingly tender trap, set with diamonds.

In Lu Jin's world, “Ye” was the only variable. He collected strands of her hair, kept track of her schedule, and even set tiny diamonds into the bullet holes from her missions.

“Su Ye,” he panted softly in her ear, both obsessive and reverent. “Don't leave me, or I'll lock you away somewhere only I can see you.”

Su Ye kicked him away, but when she was badly wounded one day, she instinctively called the number she knew by heart.

Later, someone asked her, “Mr. Lu is so obsessive. Aren't you afraid?”

Su Ye wiped down her gun, nonchalant. “What's there to be afraid of? I hold his weakness in my hands.”

(Mild angst: Lu Jin imprisons Su Ye after a misunderstanding, and she is seriously injured trying to escape. When Su Ye's enemies come after her, Lu Jin reveals his vulnerable side protecting her. Amid a crisis of trust, the two finally admit their feelings.)
